Privacy Policy
How VitalPulse collects, stores, and protects your data.
Last updated: 2026. This explains what VitalPulse collects, why, and how it's handled.
1. What we collect
When you create a donor or hospital account, we collect the information you provide directly: name, email address, phone number, city, and — for donors — self-reported blood type. Hospitals additionally provide a facility name and, once verified, manage blood inventory and request records through the app.
We also record activity generated by using the app: donation history, requests you accept or create, and basic usage/audit logs (e.g. when a request was opened, matched, or resolved) so hospitals and administrators can track outcomes.
2. How we use it
- Matching compatible, available donors to blood requests from verified hospitals.
- Letting hospitals track their own inventory, requests, and donor arrivals.
- Giving administrators the oversight needed to verify hospitals and monitor system-wide safety data (e.g. blood testing status).
- Sending you in-app notifications relevant to your account (matched requests, booking confirmations, donation completion).
We do not sell donor or hospital data to third parties.
3. SMS and WhatsApp
When an action generates an SMS or WhatsApp alert (for example, a donor accepting a request), VitalPulse prepares a message and a tap-to-send link that opens your own device's messaging app — VitalPulse does not operate its own SMS gateway or store message delivery confirmations on your behalf. The message content and recipient number are logged in the app so hospitals can track their own outgoing communications.
4. Where data is stored
VitalPulse is built on Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore). Your data is stored and processed by Google Cloud infrastructure under Google's own data processing terms. We do not maintain a separate copy of your data outside of this infrastructure.
5. Blood type and health information
Blood type you provide at signup is self-reported and clearly labeled as such in your profile until a hospital confirms it through an actual lab test during donation intake, at which point your profile reflects a lab-verified status. Health screening answers collected before a donation are used only to inform the hospital at intake and are not used for any purpose beyond that donation record.
6. Your choices
You can update your profile information (name, city, phone, blood type) at any time from your account. To request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account, contact us at the email below — we will confirm what's needed to fulfill the request.
